Hotaru Kageyoshi was a well known warrior's name in the north and also had a reputation as a Youkai hunter attached to it, even though she herself was seen to occasionally travel with Youkai in the past.

But not much had been seen or heard from her in a long time, so she was just presumed dead or forgotten by most who had known or heard of the name.

Some say she had died doing what she was known for. Others say she sailed off to the continent. There were even a few rumours going around she retired and stopped hunting and fighting like she was renowned for and perhaps grew old and died in some unknown place in the mountains.
